COMPLEX legal negotiations are still standing in the way of the transfer of the iconic Casino building in Malahide to Fingal County Council so that it can become the new home of the Fry Model Railway.

Negotiations between the council and three sets of legal representatives are still continuing, leading to local frustration at the delay in signing the deal and moving on with developing the Casino as a new tourist attraction in Malahide.

Cllr. Eoghan O'Brien (FF) asked for an update on the project last week and was disappointed to hear that legal difficulties were still in the way of the transfer of the property to public ownership.

In a written report, the council explained: 'Discussions are still ongoing between the various legal representatives to finalise arrangements to bring the Casino building into public ownership.'
