June 23: FanDuel releases first stand-alone casino app in PA
FanDuel, through its partnership with Valley Forge Casino and Boyd Gaming, launched its first branded stand-alone app in Pennsylvania. It is available for iOS and Android users.
FanDuel Casino is still available within the FanDuel Sportsbook app. New casino players can either sign up for an account or use their existing FanDuel Sportsbook account to log in and play.
General manager of FanDuel Casino Jesse Chemtob told Play Pennsylvania:
“We looked at this as a natural evolution of the casino product offering. Our goal is to provide an entertaining experience, one that people are excited to play. Trying to drive innovation in the marketplace over the long term will be how we continue to compete and take market share.”
The app and the sportsbook currently have the same titles.

BetRivers and sister site PlaySugarHouse rolled out 11 new slot titles. Some of the new additions are Ozzy Osbourne, Temple of Nudges, Monopoly Mega Movers and Wild Wild West: The Great Train Heist.
PokerStars added four slot titles to the deck. They are Wild Wild West: The Great Train Heist, Temple of Nudges, Ozzy Osbourne and Wilderland.

June 9: Health care worker wins Divine Fortune jackpot
Frontline health care workers are heroes, and one is now a jackpot winner, too.
A Heidelberg, PA, woman playing on PlaySugarHouse from her phone hit the Divine Fortune jackpot for $129,931.43.
The 32-year-old activities director at a senior living facility wagered $2 on the progressive slot. She says she plans to use the winnings on home improvements and a nice vacation.
The winner, identified only as Jamie, said no one at the senior living facility where she works has contracted the coronavirus. She said:
“We haven’t stopped working since the beginning of the coronavirus [pandemic], and we’re working even harder and longer than before it began. This win is a big treat, and I can’t begin to describe how incredible it feels.”
This is the 15th Divine Fortune jackpot win at PlaySugarHouse in PA since its launch last summer. In late May, an Audubon, PA, woman won $535,000, the biggest Divine Fortune jackpot ever.

FanDuel has added Game King Video Poker 9 in 1.
Sister sites PlaySugarHouse and BetRivers have added slots Bruce Lee and Dancing Drums.

It appears that the issues that caused Parx and Sugarhouse to pull Net Ent’s multihand blackjack just a week ago are fixed. The game is now back on those sites.

Oct. 31: Multihand blackjack pulled from Parx and SugarHouse
It appears we spoke too soon about multihand blackjack by NetEnt. Shortly after it debuted, both Parx and SugarHouse pulled the game. During an online chat with customer service, they said that blackjack was down for maintenance by the game provider and would be back up as soon as possible.
Of course, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) is aware when games get taken down from PA online casinos. The PGCB says it’s done due to technical issues or glitches in the software that cause the game not to work the way it’s supposed to. The game is removed until the error is fixed. Then it is retested in the PGCB lab before being returned to the site.
Oct 25: Parx adds multihand blackjack
Players at Parx online casino might notice a new blackjack game. This differs from the other option, Pro BlackJack. The new blackjack game is by a different provider, NetEnt. It allows players to play up to three hands at once instead of just a single hand.

The good news for Parx customers is that there is progress on the online sportsbook front. As of Monday, the Parx Online Sportsbook is available for download in the Apple App Store. It is the first new sports betting app to get listed in the store for PA users.
Perhaps in tandem with squaring things up for sportsbook launch, some of the games had to go? Two titles that are missing are African Diamond and China Shores.
What is important to note is that there is still no iOS app for Parx Online Casino, though any connection between the new app and the missing games is purely conjecture.
Aug. 1: Hollywood gets its own progressive Divine Fortune
After several days with no major updates, there is finally a new title in an online casino’s library. It’s a good one, too.
Like SugarHouse, HollywoodCasino.com can now boast a progressive jackpot slot, as it too has added Divine Fortune to the library.
According to the info on Hollywood, the game offers a 96.6% return to player (RTP). The 20-payline game has a minimum bet of $.20 and a max bet of $100.

There are four new titles in the SugarHouse library, but the one that stands out above the rest is Divine Fortune.
The introduction of the title is more than just a new game. It is the state’s first progressive jackpot slot to hit the market.
If you’re unfamiliar with progressive jackpots, these are slot titles where the top jackpot grows the more users play without anyone hitting it. They are already very popular in New Jersey, with some jackpots growing to over $2 million.

July 24: Deuces Wild disappears from Parx
Rather than any new game announcements, we have our first disappearance from a title list.
Parx Casino launched with two types of video poker, Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild. Now, though, there is only one. Deuces Wild is no longer on the list of games, leaving video poker fans with the one option.
If you are looking for video poker elsewhere in Pennsylvania, your only other option is Hollywood Casino. The good news is that the site offers the IGT Game King Video Poker suite, which features nine different variants of the game.
July 22: Busy week for sports betting, a slow start for casinos
The weekend came and went with no new game options for PA players seeking more slots and table games options. None of the three casinos added any new titles on Monday.
However, something new is coming to market soon. FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino should be rolling out testing on its online betting app at any moment.

Friday was a slow day for the three PA online casinos headed into their first weekend on the market. Here is a look at the latest game counts:

July 18: SugarHouse adds roulette
After opening Wednesday with only 22 slot titles, PlaySugarHouse is now offering table games. Effective Thursday, SugarHouse is officially offering online table games in the form of three types of online roulette.

Great weekend for two players at Valley Forge Casino
Brian N., a King of Prussia resident, won $714,000 at the Super 4 Progressive table on Oct. 9. Two days later, an unnamed player hit for $192,000.
Valley Forge Casino’s vice president and general manager David Zerfing commented on the winners:

The Super 4 Progressive side bet wager wins when the dealer has a blackjack and the combination of the dealer’s blackjack AND the player’s two cards qualifies for the 100% progressive bonus. Additionally, any player who places a wager on the Super 4 receives an “Envy Bonus” payout when another player at the table is the winner of the 100% bonus.
